Weegee is the second short film made by young filmmaker Davide Gatti, realized in 2008 as an assignment of a
Media Design class during his study at Naba Accademy in Milan, Italy.
The short film is the first step toward the America Film Noir classic aesthetic of the 1930 and 40s.
The story is a tribute to the famous metropolitan photo reporter Arthur Felling (other wise known by the nickname Weegee)
who portrayed the American borderline underground scene of prostitution and murder.

Weegee is a dark and mysterious character, capable to use unconventional methods to be the first to step on the crime scene.
The story is told in a few silent scenes and the mood of the entire movie is cold as well as the main character.
The only emotion is perceptible when he found the perfect angle for his photos.
The short film “Weegee” has been selected in several film festivals in Italy and is the winner of Reelshow All Winner Festival as best short film of 2009.
Davide Gatti is now working on establishing a link in order to work in Korean Cinema and is now developing a film project to shoot in South Korea.

Davide Gatti was born in 1986 in Milan, where he has worked in the audiovisual production field since 2005.
In 2009 he graduated from media design at Naba Academy, after which he had an internship at the Studio Azzurro Production
to finally become part of the association Many Hands Entertainment, a collective of Milan independent film directors.
At the moment he is working at an episode for a Noir TV serie for SKY Italian cable TV.
With a sincere passion for Korean cinema and culture , Gatti is creating links and connections with the cinema scene in order to develop film projects and collaborations.
