In the city for epicures, ‘Jungsik’ in New York, has the distinction of being the first Korean restaurant to be awarded 2 Michelin stars by The Michelin Guide. In the center of it all, head chef Yim Jung Sik is cooking his dreams. After he graduated from CIA(Culinary Institute of America), he came back to seoul and opened new korean wave restaurant ‘Jungsikdang’. Based on Korean ingredients, Yim Jung Sik’s newly interpreted Korean dishes are attracting many internationals to fall in love with Korean food.

This year only 5 restaurants including ‘Jungsik’ were awarded 2 Michelin stars, which just goes to show how Yim Jung Sik’s cuisine is well-enjoyed and growing as part of a representation of Korean culture. Until the day comes, when Korean food is served at tables around the world, his food will be constantly adopted as Yim Jung Sik dreams like a boy and ventures forward as a young man.
