Seoul Folk Flea Market sells the memories of Korean 서울풍물시장은 추억을 파는 곳 입니다

In 2008, the Seoul Folk Flea Market(Hwanghak-dong traditional folk market) was opened near Cheonggyecheon Stream. The market sells folk items, daily essentials, souvenirs, traditional goods, and food, which allows visitors to enjoy shopping and eating all under one roof. The market is divided into seven zones that are marked with the colors of the rainbow, such as red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and purple.

The red zone is a food court. The range zone sells local specialty produce, crafts, and decorative stones. The yellow zone sells vintage goods such as typewriters and telephones. The green zone sells antiques such as traditional antique furniture and art. The blue zone sells fashion accessories, paintings, calligraphic works, and hanji(Korean traditional paper). The purple zone sells miscellaneous goods, electronics, and tools.

서울을 대표하는 관광명소인 청계천과 함께 전통과 현대가 공존하는 문화공간 역할을 하고 있는 서울풍물시장. 1969년 이후 부터 청계천 주변  황학동을 중심으로 전국 각지에서 수집된 오래된 풍물 물건이나 상품을 판매하는 점포와 거리를 총칭하던 황학동 벼룩시장이 현재 서울풍물시장의 시초라고 할 수 있다.
2008년, 청계천과 인접한 청계8가 숭인여중 자리에 세계적인 풍물시장을 목표로 지금의 서울풍물시장으로 거듭났다. 시장은 색상 별로 총 7구역으로 나뉘며 빨간 구역은 식음료를, 노란 구역은 타이프라이터와 전화기 같은 빈티지 물건을, 녹색 구역은 고가구와 골동품, 보라색 구역은 다양한 잡화를 판매하고 있다.
