Feign : Her, Hers, horse

“In the piece, a woman rides a white horse and turns out her body, stretches for her shoes & bag on the floor. But the white horse bows the head for eating carrot. Eventually, if someone doesn’t help her, she has to get off the horse for wearing the shoe. Of course, the shoes are obscene for riding a horse, she has such a disappointed look on her face. Although she has to get off the horse, I appeal the instinct of women on the title of the piece ‘Her, Hers, horse’. I embody the women’s desire for beauty through the ridiculous situation.” By a Korean painter Kim Hyun Jung

내숭 : 여자는 말이죠

“커다란 백마 위에 올라탄 여인이 바닥에 놓인 자신의 구두와 가방을 향해 몸을 돌려 손을 뻗고 있습니다. 정작 말은 눈 앞의 홍당무에 정신이 팔려 고개를 숙이고 있습니다. 이 여인은 누가 와서 도와주지 않는 한 말에서 내려야만 신을 신을 수 있을 것입니다. 승용마에 이 신발은 가당치도 않습니다만 그럼에도 불구하고 여인은 아쉬운 표정입니다. 누가 봐도 내려야 할 상황인데 작가는 작품의 제목에서 ‘여자는 말이죠’라고 당위성을 호소합니다. 어처구니가 없는 상황을 통해 여성들의 욕망을 극적으로 표현한 것입니다.” – 한국화 화가 김현정
