Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week kicks off in New York this Thursday, and South Korea will be well-represented. Concept Korea takes place on the opening day at the Lincoln Center, and will feature five of the most prolific and innovative fashion designers the peninsula has to offer.
Choi Bo Ko, Hongbum Kim, Kathleen Kye, Lie Sang Bong, and Son Jung Wan will all be displaying their latest collections at the event under the theme ‘Rhythm of Korea’. In keeping with the concept, the runway models will be accompanied by a live traditional Korean musical performance with a contemporary twist.
Concept Korea was founded in 2010 by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea, the Daegu Metropolitan City, the Korea Creative Contents Agency, and the Korea Research Institute of Fashion Industry. This season marks their 7th showcase at New York Fashion Week.
The show is the ideal precursor for Seoul Fashion Week and will be sure to whet the appetites of Korean fashion fans around the globe. For more information on the designers and their individual collections, you can check out their websites:
