피카소 재단 설립 25주년 기념 특별 기획전으로 추상화의 거장인 파블로 피카소의 그림을 만나볼 수 있는 귀중한 전시회, 피카소 고향으로부터의 방문. 스페인 말라가의 피카소 재단이 소유하고 있는 주요 소장품 310여 점이 아시아 최초로 11월 24일 까지 예술의전당 한가람 디자인 미술관에서 공개된다. 또한 이번 전시회는 재단 역사상 최대의 규모로 스페인에서도 이 정도 규모의 전시회는 개최되지 않았다. 피카소 재단 수석큐레이터 마리오 비르힐리오(Mario Virgilio)는 이번 전시가 “재단의 25년 역사상 가장 거대하고 야심찬 전시이며 완전한 피카소, 말라가 사람 피카소를 보여줄 수 있는 전시라고 전해주었다

About Pablo Picasso

Pablo Picasso was a Spanish painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, and stage designer. As one of the greatest and most influential artists of the 20th century, he is known for co-founding the Cubist movement, the invention of constructed, the co-invention of collage, and for the wide variety of styles that he helped develop and explore.

Among his most famous works are the proto-Cubist Les Demoiselle d’Avignon(1907), and Guernica(1937), a portrayal of the German bombing of Guernica during the Spanish Civil War.
