Painting the point of contact between Utopia and Dystopia 현실 속 미래를 그리는 작가, 조태광

The world seen from Google earth looked neither like a utopia nor a dark dystopia from a fairytale story. It was a world full of wriggling points of contact waiting for its rebirth through a dialectical process. To artist Cho Tae Gwang, the world seemed that way through Google Earth. Cho Tae Gwang may seem naïve but he’s a very sharp artist. He studies the object quietly, picks up his brush steadily and fills up the canvas. However, he connects each point of contact with a clear sense of subject and his own perspective. An artist who presents the future by reflecting his own perspective and sense of subject into a twisted reality, Cho Tae Gwang sat down with CultureM Magazine to talk about this new border world between Utopia and Dystopia.
