The hidden life of people in Thailand, Night Bazaar 나이트 바자는 단순한 야시장이 아닙니다

The world famous night market, Night Bazaar in Chan Klan, Thailand. When the night comes in to the Chiang Mai, Night Bazaar appears with various appearances. The shopping is not a whole purpose, because we can feel the hidden life of people in Thailand at Night Bazaar.

타논 짱끄란 일대에 형성된 나이트 바자. 동남아는 물론 아시아에서도 큰 규모의 야시장이다. 치앙마이에 땅거미가 깔려야 비로소 빛을 발하는 나이트 바자는 단순히 쇼핑 목적이 아니라도 좋은 곳이다. 태국의 전형적인 문화를 고스란히 느낄 수 있는 곳이기 때문이다.

Night Bazaar s located in the heart of the city, on the Chan Klan road, between Tha Pae and Sri Donchai roads. It is famous for its handicrafts and portrait paintings. There are also jewelry, toys, clothing and high tech items such as, CDs and DVDs. The market is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Chiang Mai. At first, the market was owned by Chinese merchants, but since it grew in size as more commercial buildings were built, it was no longer owned by a single group of people. Instead, there are many owners, and most of them are Thai.

타논 짱끄란 일대에 어둠이 내려 하나, 둘 상점이 불을 밝히며 태국을 대표하는 세계적인 야시장, 나이트 바자가 모습을 드러낸다. 근처에 거주하는 고산족이 직접 만든 공예품과 각종 의류, 액세서리 등 이국적인 풍경이 가득한 나이트 바자에는 소위 없는 것이 없을 정도로 다양한 물건을 구비되어 있다.
특히 태국을 대표하는 코끼리 목상이 가득한 자판 사이 좁은 길을 비집고 다니다 보면 서울의 전통 재래시장에서 마주쳤던 풍경도 쉽게 발견할 수 있다. 가격을 흥정하는 사람들, 일상에 지쳐 쪽잠을 청하는 상인들, 노상에서 간단한 음식으로 허기를 달래는 사람들까지. 더욱이 골동품을 전문으로 취급하는 상점과 잡화점과 희귀한 예술품을 매매하는 상점이 구석구석에 숨어 있어 나이트 바자만으로도 태국 여행의 재미를 충분히 만끽할 수 있다.
