대강양조장의 막걸리 온도 조절 비법은 나무 막대기인 ‘절대’다. 몇 시간에 한 번 이 절대를 이용해 항아리 속 막걸리를 저으면 막걸리의 온도를 낮출 수 있다. 보글보글 소리를 내며 항아리 속에서 맛있게 익어가는 알싸한 막걸리 앞에 서면 그 향에 벌써 취기가 오른다.

About Sobaeksan Makgeolli
Daegang brewery is located at the base of Sobaek Mountain which it was running over four generation by family business since 1918. The character of Sobaeksan Makgeolli’s taste is remarkable sour and rich flavor. So, theses makes Sobaeksan Makgeolli more unique, Many Makgeolli lovers called ‘reject comparison Makgeolli’. And there is an amusing anecdote is told of Sobaeksan Makgeolli, a former Korea president, Roh Moo Hyun was drank for six times straight Sobaeksan Makgeolli. After that, Sobaeksan Makgeolli was choose the official beverage of summit meeting when a former Korea president, Roh Moo Hyun was during his term of office.

소백산 기슭에 위치한 대강양조장은 1918년 창업 이후 약 100년 동안 오로지 가족경영체제로 4대째 운영되어 왔다. 특히 지하 180m 석회암 암반층에서 우러나오는 천연탄산수로 양조하는 소백산막걸리는 여느 막걸리와 비교할 수 없을 만큼의 톡 쏘는 맛과 진한 풍미가 인상적이다. 예전 노무현 대통령이 6잔을 거푸 마셨다는 일화와 함께 임기 중에 정상회담이나 만찬에 건배주로 사용되어 많은 사람들의 사랑을 받았다.
