Youn Gui Deog’s art photography ‘Explosion’ 작은 점이 폭발해 우주가 된다

The Space is the biggest spatial idea human has ever known, which it made by explosion and destruction. So, I reproduce the explosion of space through chemical destruction where is repeating the creation and through chemical destruction. And I capture the images of space explosion through explosion and destruction, is based on Bigbang theory.

I don’t use an usual photography manual for express this work, so I use javel(such as chemical wax) liquor. First, I spray various ways to photographic paper. And I capture some chemical react with javel liquor and photographic paper. So, I reproduce the images of space explosion through explosion and destruction by javel’s chemical reacts.

In short, image wasn’t produeced by light and photographic paper like a usual way. Instead, Javel liquor and photographic paper reacts all together, it produces totally different images. I captured the process of images self-creation through physical damage. Destruction makes a new thing like the Space did it. Destruction is not a dismantling but a creation for novelty.

폭발과 해체를 통해 만들어진 현재 인간이 알고 있는 가장 큰 공간, 우주. 생성과 소멸이 반복하는 무한한 공간인 우주의 폭발을 화학적 파괴라는 방법을 통하여 재현해 본다. 빅뱅으로 인해 현 우주가 생겨났다는 이론에 근거해 파괴와 해체라는 방식을 통해 우주가 폭발하는 이미지를 포착한다.

피사체를 직접 찍고 현상하고 인화하는 일반적인 방법이 아닌, 자벨(세제 왁스와도 같은) 용액을 사용해 검은색 인화지위에 다양한 방법으로 자벨 용액을 분사한다. 그리고 자벨 용액이 인화지 위에서 화학반응을 일으키며 인화지 표면을 파괴하는 흔적을 빅뱅으로 재현하였다. 자벨의 흔적을 보듯 무수히 많은 기포방울의 흔적들이 우주공간에서의 하나하나 폭발의 흔적을 재현하고 있다.

즉, 인화지 표면의 빛에 반응하여 이미지를 맺게 하는 것이 아니라 자벨이라는 용액에 반응 하게하여 이미지를 만들어 내는 것이다. 이미지 생산의 새로운 실험적인 방법의 일종으로 물리적 손상을 통해 이미지 스스로 창조가 되는 방법을 택한 것이다. 우주가 그러했듯 그렇게 파괴는 새로움을 낳는다. 파괴는 해체가 아닌 새로움의 창조이다.
