“In 2010, A Korean rock band ‘April 2nd’ debuted with the first EP album . They consist of Moon Dae Gwang, Shin Jae Young, Kim Kyung Hee, Moon Woo Gun. And they pursued alternative, synth, modern rock style with unique sounds & lyrics from now on.” Unfortunately, this introduction text is only for people who listens April 2nd’s music by earphone. But when I listen April 2nd’s music in the live stage, i’m sure that theirs identity as a rock band. “The band wants to communicate with fans as possible as, but they exactly know what to do as rock band.” CultureM Magazine meets a Korean rock band ‘April 2nd’ who is returned with first regular album “Plastic Heart” in 4 years.

“2010년 EP 앨범 “시부야 34℃”로 데뷔한 4인조 록 밴드 ‘에이프릴 세컨드’. 문대광, 신재영, 김경희, 문우건으로 구성된 에이프릴 세컨드는 얼터너티브, 신스팝, 모던 록 등의 스타일로 데뷔 이후 꾸준한 활동을 펼쳐왔다.” 이상은 에이프릴 세컨드의 음악을 이어폰으로 들어본 누군가에게 그들을 설명할 수 있는 충분한 팩트이다. 하지만 에이프릴 세컨드의 음악을 현장에서 한 번이라도 들어본 팬들이라면 다음의 한 문장에 반드시 고개를 끄덕일 것이다. ‘팬들과의 끊임없는 공감을 위해 날선 현실 감각을 유지하면서도 누구도 따라 할 수 없는 본인들만의 독특한 음악을 연주하는 밴드’라고. 구구절절 텍스트로 이야기를 풀어놓기 보다는 그들의 진짜 목소리를 들려주고 싶었다. 컬쳐엠매거진 4년만에 첫 정규 앨범 ‘플라스틱 하트’로 돌아온 에이프릴 세컨드를 만났다.
