After that, he appeared in many plays such as ‘Biunso’, ‘Here is a soup for you’ from now. With his unique character and nature acting skill, He even secured his place in the best Korean actor, which is reserved for actors who draw in 82 million viewers.

Also, a Korean actor Kim Yoon Suk who appeared in ‘The high rollers’, ‘The Thieves’ etc from now. He was huge loved for his strong character, matchless unique acting skill by fans. ‘스티브 잡스’의 마이클 패스빈더, ‘셀마’의 데이비드 오예로워, ‘링컨’의 대니얼 데이 루이스…이들의 공통점은 무엇일까. 바로 연극무대에서 탄탄한 연기력을 쌓은 영국 배우로 할리우드에 진출해 성공가도를 달리고 있는 스타들이라는 점이다. 발성에서부터 표정, 액션연기에 이르기까지 탄탄한 기본기부터 다진 영국 배우들이 할리우드 영화의 주연 자리를 독식하고 있는 것이다.

미국뿐만 아니다. 우리 영화계 역시 연극무대에서 탄탄한 연기력을 다진 배우들이 주요한 흐름을 주도하며 관객들의 좋은 평가를 받고 있다. 빼어난 연기력으로 높은 흥행파워까지 지니고 있는 송강호 김윤석 오달수 등이 바로 연극배우 출신이다.

9월 개봉할 ‘사도’ 주연을 맡은 송강호는 연극 ‘동승’으로 연기자 데뷔를 한 뒤 ‘비언소’ ‘국물 있사옵니다’등 연극에 출연하며 탄탄한 연기력을 쌓아 영화계에 진출해 최고의 연기력을 자랑하는 배우로 우뚝 섰다. 출연한 영화를 통해 8,200만명의 관객을 동원한 송강호의 힘은 바로 어떠한 캐릭터도 진정성을 부여하며 자연스럽게 소화하는 연기력이다.

송강호와 버금가는 연기력을 갖춘 김윤석 역시 ‘타짜’ ‘도둑들’ ‘완득이’ 등 출연 영화에서 강렬한 개성을 드러내면서도 타의 추종을 불허하는 캐릭터 소화력으로 관객들의 찬사를 받고 있다. 김윤석은 대학 때부터 연극동아리 활동을 한 뒤 부산의 연극무대에 올랐다. 이후 서울 대학로에서 ‘국물 있사옵니다’ ‘고도를 기다리며’ ‘오이디푸스의 이름’등 10여년 동안 연극 작품에 출연하며 발성부터 연기에 이르기까지 기본기가 튼실한 연기력을 다져 영화계에 우뚝 섰다.

조연과 주연을 넘나들며 전인미답의 흥행기록을 세우고 있는 오달수 역시 연극배우 출신이다. ‘암살’이 1000만 관객을 돌파하면서 오달수의 1000만영화 출연편수는 6편으로 늘어났고 2002년 ‘해적, 디스코왕 되다’로 영화계에 진출한 뒤 배우로서 출연한 영화 관객이 1억명을 훨씬 상회하고 있다. 이러한 오달수를 가능하게 한 원동력은 연극무대에서의 쌓은 탄탄한 연기력과 캐릭터 분석력이다. 1990년 이윤택 연출의 연극 ‘오구’를 통해 연극배우로 데뷔한 이후 지속적으로 연극을 소화하고 있다. 최근 들어 한해 6편내외의 영화에 출연하면서도 한, 두 편의 연극무대에 오르고 있다.

주연뿐만 아니다. 영화계를 떠받치고 있는 영화배우들은 바로 개성강한 조연배우들이다. 김성균 진경 배성우 최덕문 윤제문 고창석 김희원 박희순 장영남 이성민 이도경 신정근 전국환 김병옥 등 주연을 능가하는 조연의 존재감을 보이며 한국 영화의 지평을 확장하는 배우들이 바로 연극무대에서 오랫동안 연기력을 다진 연기자들이다.
