Also, he can show various images from intense charisma man to pretty handsome boy, he did it since debut. So, many film directors & drama producers loves Yoo Ah In who can cover various genres in movie & drama such as modern & historical drama and melodramatic, thriller. This is the biggest driver of Yoo Ah In’s best days.

Also, there have been praises of Yoo Ah In’s role ‘Sado crown prince’ about his upcoming movie ‘The Throne’ after preview. It is because of acting skill’s growth too. Many spectators are growing more and more interested in Yoo Ah In’s upcoming movie ‘Sado crown prince’. Also, his upcoming drama ‘Six Flying Dragons’ in October will make his best days more unwaveringly. The reason why Yoo Ah In will act a role of Lee Bang Won in the drama, Lee Bang Won is the very important character in historical drama, and also, many great Korean actors already acted the role. ‘베테랑’의 류승완 감독이 “유아인이 이번 영화를 통해 처음으로 악역을 연기했다. 처음 하는 악역인데 굉장히 얄밉게 잘하더라. 모든 스태프와 배우들이 놀랐다”는 찬사를 했다. 스태프와 배우만 놀라는 것이 아니라 관객들 역시 유아인의 연기에 극찬을 보내고 있다.

9월 16일 개봉하는 ‘사도’의 이준익 감독은 “사도세자역은 처음부터 유아인이라는 연기자를 염두에 뒀다”라고 말했다. 이준익 감독의 말이 처음에는 영화 ‘사도’ 홍보성 발언이라는 생각을 했다가 ‘베테랑’을 보고 허언이 아님을 깨닫는다. 충분히 그럴 수 있겠다는 생각을 들게 한다.

그야말로 유아인의 전성시대다. ‘베테랑’에선 캐릭터 분석과 해석을 잘 해 자칫 전형성에 갇히며 진부함을 드러낼 수 있었던 재벌3세 조태오역을 관객들에게 공감하고 몰입할 수 있도록 연기를 했다. 조태오는 탐욕과 사이코패스, 아버지의 폭력 세습, 형과 누나에 대한 열등감, 출생에 대한 피해의식 등 복잡한 인간성과 다면적 심리를 갖고 있는 인물이다. 유아인은 이 인물을 일부 장면에선 과장 연기가 드러났지만 대체로 자연스럽게 소화해 관객의 찬사를 이끌어냈다.

2004년 드라마 ‘반올림’으로 연기자로서 첫발을 디딘 유아인은 지난 11년 동안 주연을 맡은 드라마 ‘성균관 스캔들’ ‘패션왕’ ‘장옥정, 사랑에 살다’ ‘밀회’ 그리고 영화 ‘완득이’ ‘깡철이’ ‘베테랑’등의 성공, 출중한 외모와 강렬한 반항적 이미지, 그리고 영화와 드라마의 성공으로 스타덤에 올랐다. 그리고 최근 들어 점차 정교해지는 연기력과 진정성을 부여하는 캐릭터 창출력으로 인해 연기를 잘 하는 배우로까지 인정받고 있다.

유아인은 하나의 이미지로 가둘 수 없는 배우다. 20대 남자 배우 중 반항적인 이미지를 제대로 표출할 수 있는 배우가 유아인이라고 이준익 감독이 평가한 것처럼 강렬한 카리스마를 드러낼 수 있는 캐릭터에서부터 귀여운 꽃미남 남성의 이미지까지 매우 넓은 스펙트럼의 캐릭터 변주를 잘 할 수 있는 배우가 유아인이다. 이 때문에 영화감독이나 드라마 연출자들이 유아인을 현대극에서 사극까지 그리고 멜로에서 스릴러까지 다양한 장르와 작품에 기용하려고 하는 것이다. 이것이 유아인의 전성시대를 연 가장 큰 원동력이다.

시사회를 통해 공개된 ‘사도’에서의 유아인표 사도세자에 대한 찬사가 쏟아지고 있다. 이 역시 탄탄하고 더욱 세밀해진 연기력 덕분이다. ‘베테랑’의 성공에 이어 유아인이 주연을 맡은 영화 ‘사도’에 대한 기대가 높아지고 있다. 이와 함께 10월에 방송될 SBS 월화드라마 ‘육룡이 나르샤’도 유아인의 전성시대를 더욱 견고하게 해줄 것으로 보인다. 그 동안 기라성 같은 배우들이 연기한 이방원역을 맡았는데 유아인이 이 캐릭터에 도전하기 때문이다. 유아인이 해석한 이방원은 어떤 모습일까. 만약 유아인이 이방원역을 잘 소화해 작품을 성공으로 이끈다면 유아인은 대체불가의 20대 남자 스타의 자리를 더욱 견고하게 구축할 수 있을 것이다.
