The First Place,Volendam 동화가 시작되는 마을, 볼렌담

Volendam is a town in North Holland in the Netherlands, in the municipality of Edam-Volendam. Originally, Volendam was the location of the harbor of the nearby Edam, which was situated at the mouth of the IJ bay. Volendam is a popular tourist attraction in the Netherlands, well known for its old fishing boats and the traditional clothing still worn by some residents. The women’s costume of Volendam, with its high, pointed bonnet, is one of the most recognizable of the Dutch traditional costumes, and is often featured on tourist postcards and posters. Volendam also features a small museum about its history and clothing style, and visitors can have their pictures taken in traditional Dutch costumes.

네덜란드의 수도인 암스테르담 북동쪽에 위치한 볼렌담은 부근의 마르켄섬과 함께 원래 작은 어촌이었다. 하지만 여자는 뾰족 모자에 줄무늬의 앞치마를 걸치고, 남자는 은화를 단추로 한 헐렁한 바지를 입는 네덜란드 전통 복장, 그리고 작은 어촌답게 아기자기하게 잘 조성된 가옥과 거리로 인해 지금은 네덜란드를 대표하는 관광지로 각광받고 있다. 특히 마치 동화에서나 볼 수 있을 법한 가옥들과 그림 같은 거리는 암스테르담에서는 느낄 수 없는 이색적인 포인트로 추천할 수 있다. 또한 네덜란드 전통 복식과 생활 양식 등을 고스란히 느낄 수 있는 작은 박물관들을 마을 곳곳에서 발견할 수 있다.

The Second Place,Zaanse Schans 풍차의 마을, 잔세스칸스

The Zaanse Schans is one of the highlights of the Netherlands, just outside Amsterdam. Be part of a vibrant and stunning living and working community that dates back to the 18th and 19th centuries. It’s packed with wooden windmills, barns, houses and museums and built in the typically Dutch wooden architectural style, relocated here piece by piece since 1961.

The Zaanse Schans will easily fill half a day. There is so much to see, taste, smell and experience. Take a walk through the stunning buildings and the unique peat meadow landscape. Come and watch traditional crafts such as clog and cheese making or visit the windmills and traditional buildings. Take a boat trip, dine in one of the restaurants or explore the shops and boutiques. The Zaanse Schans is one of the popular tourist attractions of the region and an anchor point of ERIH, the European Route of Industrial Heritage. The neighbourhood attracts approximately 900,000 visitors every year.

튤립과 풍차의 나라로 대변되는 네덜란드를 대표하는 수 많은 명소 중에서도 잔세스칸스는 목가적인 풍경을 고스란히 간직하고 있는 조용하고 깨끗한 우리네 시골 같은 곳이다. 암스테르담에서 북쪽으로 13km 떨어진 동화 같은 분위기의 작은 마을인 잔세스칸스는 풍차 마을로도 잘 알려져 있다. 18세기에는 700개가 넘는 풍차가 있었으나 산업혁명의 기계화에 밀려 지금은 관광용으로 몇 개만 남아 있다. 치즈 공장, 나막신을 만들어 파는 상점과 음식점, 산책로 등 전원 생활을 꿈꾸는 사람들을 위한 최적의 장소로 사랑 받고 있다.
