“Sampo Generation means the generation who gives up courtship, marriage and childbirth. In these day, many young Korean gives up marriage and date with lover, and holds off childbirth without any promise because of economic, social pressures such as soaring prices, tuitions, unemployment crisis.”

“This piece called ‘Sampo Generation, Miss Kim’ which is satirizing the reality of the generation who gives up courtship, marriage and childbirth. The baby bottle of the piece means childbirth, the movie ticket & popcorn means date, the ring means marriage. The feign girl of the piece watches the front of running alone for get a job in the hard world. FEIGN : 삼포세대 미쓰김

“삼포세대 란 연애, 결혼, 출산 세 가지를 포기한 세대를 말합니다. 현재 많은 대한민국의 젊은이들은 치솟는 물가, 등록금, 취업난과 같은 경제적, 사회적 압박으로 인해 스스로 돌볼 여유도 없다는 이유로, 연애와 결혼을 포기하고, 출산을 기약 없이 미루고 있다고 하네요. 이러한 삼포세대 현실을 담은 작품 ‘삼포세대, 미쓰김’입니다. 작품 속 날아다니는 젖병은 출산을, 영화표와 팝콘은 연애를, 반지는 결혼을 상징하는데요, 이것들을 떨쳐내고 취업만을 위해 앞만 보고 달려가는 삼포세대의 내숭녀입니다. 미쓰김의 표정만봐도 앞날이 녹록지 않아 보이지만, 슈퍼 걸 미쓰김 힘내세요!” – 한국화 화가 김현정
