The seven-member unit of IOI’s single, ‘Whatta Man’ 한 번 더 아이오아이

The most anticipated Korean girl group in 2016, IOI has released a new single album ‘Whatta Man’ as the seven member unit group. After they debuted with the first mini album ‘Chrysalis’ in May, they were showing their brilliant talents at the several parts such as tv show, cf etc. Especially, they embodied more evolved performances, style unlike their pure & pretty image as the girl group who is growing day by day.

The title track ‘Whatta man’ is a powerful dance track with IOI member’s gorgeous voice, poisonous melodies, vivid hip-hop beats, also cheerful performances. The most remarkable point of the track is Ryan Jun directed the track who was already composed several hit tracks with EXO’s ‘LOVE ME RIGHT’, Red Velvet’s ‘Dumb Dumb’.

대국민 걸 그룹으로 자리 잡은 아이오아이가 7인 유닛으로 싱글 앨범 ‘Whatta Man’을 발표했다. 지난 5월 첫 번째 미니앨범 ‘Chrysalis’로 데뷔 후, 다양한 분야에서 활발한 활동을 펼쳐온 그녀들이 7인으로 구성된 유닛으로 돌아온 것이다. 기존에 선보인 음악과는 달리 퍼포먼스, 스타일까지 모든 면에서 점차 성장해가고 있는 소녀들의 모습을 부족함 없이 담아냈다.

이번 아이오아이의 ‘Whatta Man(Good man)’은 백인 소울 뮤지션 린다 린델(Linda Lyndell)의 1968년 발표작인 “What A Man”을 샘플링하여 만든 곡으로, EXO의 ‘LOVE ME RIGHT’, 레드벨벳의 ‘Dumb Dumb’등의 곡을 작곡한 작곡가 라이언 전이 참여했다. 특히 멤버들의 개성 있는 보컬과 중독적인 멜로디가 돋보이며 경쾌한 힙합 비트에 중독성 있는 후렴구가 귀에 맴도는 곡으로, 멜로디와 강렬하게 어우러지는 파워풀한 댄스 퍼포먼스가 돋보인다.
