The history of Angove Winery goes all the way up to 1854. It started when a British doctor William Thomas Angove immigrated to Australia and planted grapes and produced wine for medical treatment purposes. 세라피노는 1964년 이탈리아에서 호주 맥라렌 베일에 이주한 이탈리아 청년이 설립한 와이너리다. 그 청년 이름이 세라피노 마길레리(Serafino Maglieri)다. 세라피노 할아버지는 당시 닥치는 대로 과수원에서도 일하고 포도밭에서도 일하고 하다가 돈을 좀 모았는지, 1972년에 지금의 와이너리를 설립했다고 한다.
샴페인과 스파클링 와인은 다르다. 오직 프랑스 ‘샹빠뉴’ 지역에서 생산된 스파클링 와인을 샴페인이고 부르기 때문이다.
