I am still not sure what kind of work I can put out in the future, however my thoughts on trying to create something better and nicer and as many paintings as possible in order to quench the artistic thirst hasn’t changed.

Haven’t I ever said ‘No’ the word I truly want to say sometimes. I became more confident with what I want to say since then. When someone asks me why I did something this way, I wish I could be true to myself and say “Because I wanted to” simply.

Curiosity is the engine of my artwork. When people say my painting of an old lady putting on makeup look quite scary. It is not because my painting exaggerated the old lady but somehow people feel quite differently about an old lady doing the exact same thing as a young woman does.

To an artist, development means change. It doesn’t mean that I would criticize an artist for maintaining or being loyal to one’s distinctive style or the world one has developed after long research and experiments. That is something we all admire, however I am not quite confident that I can continue same style of work for a few decades.

A Korean artist, Hong Il Hwa’s solo exhibition ‘La Dame d’ATOUR’ held from 10th to 19th September 2015 at , Paris, France. In the exhibition, he expresses ‘beauty of women’ for expressing real beauty of humans by a slanted view, distorted view, contorted thought of human rather than cursory simple strange images as drew modified female portrait.
