The Photography Exhibition, ‘Bukchon’ by Kim Seung Woo 작가 김승우, 북촌을 담다

The first Photography Exhibition in Seoul, ‘Bukchon’ by Kim Seung Woo runs from Jan 10 to Jan 19 at the gallery GAHOEDONG60. Surrounded by many historic monuments, Bukchon is an area located in the centre of Seoul, the capital city of Korea. Kim Seung Woo works shows the beautiful scenery and the people in Bukchon. He focuses on the emptiness they are facing today as if they are wandering about in the city lost in coexistence.
Since potentially, most viewers have a connection to Bukchon in various ways, he expects that his work can strike the chord and inspire the viewers to communicate with each other. 사진작가 무기 김승우의 국내 첫 사진전 ‘북촌’이 1월 10일부터 19일까지 갤러리 ‘가회동60’에서 개최된다. 이번 전시 ‘북촌’에서는 김승우 작가가 전시 직전까지 석 달간 촬영한 북촌의 모습이 전시될 예정이다. 현재 북촌에서 공존을 잃어버리고 단절된 채 피조물에 압도되어 표류하는 사람들의 공허한 현재를 표현한 10여점의 다큐멘터리 흑백필름사진을 만날 수 있다.
작가는 이번 전시회를 통해 관람객들이 가장 친근하고 익숙하게 느끼는 ‘현재’라는 소재와 북촌의 모습을 담은 사진으로 가장 효율적인 소통을 시도하고자 한다. 또한 전시기간 전후로 인터렉티브 아트 행사를 개최해 북촌을 방문하는 모든 사람이 참여하는 함께 공감할 수 있는 열린 소통의 장을 제공할 예정이다.
