The only one artist who was regarded as ‘one of the forerunners of a new breed of artists who are scientists, philosophers and engineers at the same time’ and as ‘a very special and genuine genius and futurologist with foresight’. Yes, it is. He is Nam June Paik. Although he left us nine years ago, he is still alive with us through Nam June Paik Art center. In 16th July 2015 at Nam June Paik Art center, there was the opening ceremony for Nam June Paik exhibition, ‘Intermedia Theater’ and the special exhibition ‘Super-spreader: media virus’

In case of Nam June Paik exhibition, ‘Intermedia Theater’, Nam June Paik Art Center presents the arena where art media and life media collide with each other— where Paik would be the most dramatic actor. It holds at Nam June Paik Art Center from the 27th June 2015 to 17th Jan 2016. And the special exhibition ‘Super-spreader: media virus’, the show will examines the role and influence of media that are currently undergone a change as various forms of media are distributed to a greater population with 11 artists. It holds at Nam June Paik Art Center from the 16th July 2015 to 4th Oct 2015. CultureM Magazine releases two videos of the opening ceremony & HWAUM CHAMBER orchestra’s performance at the day.

미디어 아트의 개척자이자 다양한 테크놀로지를 이용해 실험적이고 창의적으로 작업했던 예술가, 백남준. 대한민국이 낳은 가장 ‘현대적인 예술가’인 백남준이 타개한지 벌써 9년이 지났지만 여전히 백남준아트센터를 통해 많은 사람들과 끊임없는 소통을 이어가고 있다. 지난 7월 16일, 백남준아트센터에서는 백남준아트센터 백남준전 《인터미디어 극장(Intermedia Theater)》과 백남준아트센터 기획전《슈퍼전파-미디어바이러스》의 개막식이 개최되었다.

백남준아트센터 백남준전 《인터미디어 극장(Intermedia Theater)》은 다양한 미디어 사이에서 수 없이 많은 창조와 발전을 보여준 백남준의 예술활동을 보여주는 전시회로 2015년 6월 27일부터 2016년 1월 17일 까지 개최될 예정이다. 또한 백남준아트센터 기획전《슈퍼전파-미디어바이러스》는 시대적으로 변화를 맞고 있는 미디어의 역할 및 영향력과 커뮤니케이션의 급속한 전파와 확산으로 인한 이슈들을 확인해 보고, 미디어가 거대 권력화 되는 오늘날의 현상과 개개인의 삶의 변화에 주목하는 전시이다. 2015년 7월 16일부터 2015년 10월 4일까지 백남준아트센터에서 관람할 수 있다. 컬쳐엠매거진이 지난 7월 16일 백남준아트센터에서 열린 전시 개막식 현장과 축하 퍼포먼스 영상을 공개한다.
