한국인은 아주 오래 전부터 갈비를 좋아했다. 어릴 적 생일이나 입학식, 졸업식 등 경사스러운 날이면 부모님 손을 잡고 들뜬 가슴으로 갈비를 뜯으러 간 추억이 있을 것이다. 『승정원일기』 인조 17년(1639년) 6월 24일자에도 갈비(㠰非)라는 말이 등장할 정도로 갈비 사랑은 유독 오랫동안 우리 생활에 자리 잡고 있었다.

Regardless of your gender and age, there are a few Korean dishes that all Koreans love. Galbi, pork belly, noodle with black sauce, Budae jjigea(spicy stew with ham, sausages and noodle) and so can be listed and among these, I would like to talk about Galbi. Koreans seem have loved Galbi from long time ago.

개조개는 ‘조개의 여왕’이라는 별명에 걸맞게, 포구로부터 멀리 떨어져 있고, 수심이 깊은 곳에 뚝 떨어져 서식하고 있다. 수심 40m 까지의 모래나 자갈이 섞인 진흙 밑에서 서식하기 때문에 잠수장비를 착용하고, 노란으로 칠해진 잠수기를 통해 어획한다. 개조개는 잠수부가 목숨을 걸고 채취하는 조개이기 때문에 거제도에서도 아주 귀하고 고가의 식재료다.

Washington clam, which deserves its nickname “the queen of seashells” lives deep in the water far from ports. As Washington clams bury themselves under send and mud 40meters below water, divers have to put on their gears and collect the clams with a yellow diving apparatus.

부산은 매력적인 곳이다. 한국에서 두 번째로 큰 도시로, ‘한국의 샌프란시스코’라고도 불린다. 국내에서 가장 큰 항구가 있기도 하지만 신선한 횟감을 만날 수 있는 수산시장, 끝내주는 야경을 볼 수 있는 광안대교, 도심과 맞닿아 있는 해안가 등 샌프란시스코를 많이 닮았다.

Busan is a charming city that is called San Francisco of Korea. It’s the second biggest city after Seoul and houses the biggest port in the country. Its seafood market is a magical place where you can find all the freshest seafood and Gwangahn Bridge hosts the beautiful night view of the city that sparkles next to the ocean.

Especially as Cuba is one of the very few countries that still runs under socialist government. There are Cuban sandwich, cigars, and rum.

Foodie’s Table will choose different country for each event and provide experience of learning and tasting its food and culture. Will it be possible to taste food of all countries around the world in no time before you die without having to actually travel the world just by attending Foodie’s Table?

In the pursue of returning to enjoying more natural flavors, Food Week Korea held the biggest food industry exhibition under the theme ‘An Invitation to Basis’ successfully at Coex Convention Hall.
