CultureM recently had an interview with Luis da Silva, a course director of McQueens Flower School (McQ). In person, Silva appears meticulous and well-groomed, perhaps a subconscious reflection of his floral aesthetics. Silva started working in the floral industry at 15 years of age, almost accidentally, when his sister, also a florist, got him a summer job. While Silva enjoyed the artistic nature of floristry, he wanted to pursue different avenues of careers, so he stopped for about five years. However, when he went to London, he realized that he couldn’t escape his true passion, and so started his love affair with floristry all over again by going to college to specialize in floristry.

Silva’s style is clean and modern, and his inspiration comes from nature, particularly parks and trees, and his favorite season, spring. The people who work with him also influence him, and he works intimately with his clients to tailor to their floral and aesthetic preferences, as well incorporate the space to contain the floral arrangements in a modern but beautiful way. Silva firmly believes that one should never stop learning, no matter their age, and because everyone has a different perspective, one should try to see and learn as much as possible from the world around them. This is the approach that he endeavors to impart upon his clients, students, and friends.

If you have an interest in floral arrangement, or simply want to experience the beautifully clean and modern floral aesthetics of Silva, stop by McQueens Flower School and give his flowers a sniff.

  • Thanks for another great article. Where else could anybody get that type of info in such an ideal way of writing? I have a presentation next week, and I’m on the look for such info.

  • konferencje warszawa

That is the correct blog for anybody who desires to search out out about this topic. You notice a lot its nearly laborious to argue with you (not that I actually would need…HaHa). You positively put a new spin on a topic thats been written about for years. Great stuff, simply great!
