윗면이 옆면을 닮고, 빛이 비추는 앞면과 그림자 지는 뒷면까지, 큐브를 이루는 똑같은 크기와 모양의 여섯 개의 면은 제각기 다른 방향을 바라본다. 동그란 공처럼 굴러가지도, 세모난 피라미드처럼 하늘높이를 찌르지도 못하지만 한자리에 머물러 있는 네모는 더욱더 비밀스러운 여행을 한다.

I unfold the cube to draw a map, then refold it to contain the space. Grabbing the little dice in one hand, I install a lamp in a square room from which stories would be born with another. Soon, I throw the dice and open the box where I put a memory inside and pull an imagination outside.

You can visit Lee Ji Sun’s the 2nd solo exhibition from 28th August to 11th September in Scalatium Artspace Sangam, Seoul. In the exhibition, she shows some pieces which inspired by these four selected words(Chance, Fate, Nature, Story), she presents serial drawings echoing with each one of them, and two videos.

Make it easier to understand, I took men’s wear fabric for making totally women style clothing. Frankly, it is not so special concept. Because, there is no more man and woman difference for the fashion. But, I just wanted to tell that the piece is totally mine. This is the QE DOCUMENT.

다양한 시간과 공간에서 뿜어져 나오는 서로 다른 색의 향기는 누군가에게는 아름다움으로 느껴지기도 하고, 또 다른 이 에게는 현기증을 불러일으킨다. 몸을 감싸는 어제와 다른 오늘의 색이 하나의 분위기로 나의 겉모습을 완성하고, 화분에 심어진 꽃도 시간에 따라 톤을 바꾼다.

The rainbow paints laying on the canvas may resemble the pleasant day of the past or draw a frozen heart. Added to the contrast of brightness and darkness which engraves the presence of things, the color becomes itself the reason or the result of the existence.

Making clothes, painting the people who met me. I sudden realize that these works means some kind of my history. So, I decided to leave behind my history on my clothes or upcoming works. Let me introduces you my first work’s ‘TOP’ used by the fitting clothes.

My object can be burnt to lose its volume, or cracks after losing moisture from the heat but its true nature has never been lost. Whether you sculpt a wood into Buddha or Jesus Christ on the cross, its true identity will never be changed.

단어자체가 ‘생명을 준다’라는 의미를 갖는 애니메이션은 실제로도 영상 안에 담겨있는 허구의 주인공에게 생명을 불어넣는다. 애니메이션 안에서는 존재하지 않던 주인공의 머리카락 한 올 한 올과 눈망울, 주인공이 밟고 지나가는 풀밭에 잔잔히 부는 바람, 작은 소리로 시작해 주변의 모든 것을 적시는 빗방울과 소리 없이 떠다니는 구름까지도 창조되어 움직이며 살아간다.

Even asleep, eyes keep moving to watch the dreamy scenes of imagination. Representing certain existences or creating in the void, animation makes the scenes of life through its technical mechanism and artistic possibilities.
