GAEKO’s 1st solo album “REDINGRAY” 혼자서도 랩하는 개코

Dynamic Duo’s GAEKO has released his first solo album “READINGRAY”. In fact, Dynamic Duo has the huge fandom as the best Korean hip-hop group. The reason why this album is so meaningful for GAEKO, this is the first solo album in 15 years. GAEKO’s solo album “READINGRAY” shows the ‘red’ feelings of human on a dry grey land, such as love, parting, anger, affection and jealousy.
The title song “No make up” is made imaginatively, where the man called the woman at night and heard the words above. On the soulful beat that GAEKO has made, a trendy source is also added to complete the beat. HA:TFELT, Zion.T, Kim joon ho and Kim Ji min also joined the featuring, doing their own roles in the song. Also, another title song “Rose” shows a special serenade towards a woman. GAEKO’s vocal without too much effort is just enough to show the tension and sadness from beginning to the end in this song.

다이나믹듀오의 개코가 데뷔 15년 만에 첫 솔로 정규앨범 “레딘그레이”를 발표했다. 다이나믹듀오의 멤버가 아닌 오로지 자신만의 음악과 이야기를 담아낸 개코는 이번 앨범에 ‘회색 도시 속의 인간의 감정과 욕망’이라는 테마로 총 17곡을 두 장의 CD에 담아냈다.  특히 이번 앨범은 상반되는 색깔의 두 곡 “장미꽃”과 “화장 지웠어”를 더블 타이틀곡으로 정해 황량하리만큼 메마른 회색도시에서 드러나는 사랑, 이별, 분노, 감동, 질투 등 인간의 붉은빛 감정을 담아냈다.
타이틀 곡 “화장 지웠어”는 친구도 연인도 아닌 애매한 관계를 이어가는 남녀의 이야기로 소울풀한 비트위에 시모의 감각적이고 트렌디한 소스를 가미했으며 원더걸스 예은, 자이언티, 김준호 김지민 등이 피처링 참여했다. 또 다른 타이틀곡인 “장미꽃”은 사랑하는 연인을 위한 세레나데로 특별한 기교 없이 편안하게 가사를 읊조리는 개코의 랩이 인상적이다.
