Shin Mi Jung’s 4th solo exhibition 신미정의 네 번째 이야기, <�식민지/추억>

A Korean artist, Shin Mi Jung holds the fourth solo exhibition from 9th ~ 19th November 2015 at Mullae Art Factory. As the artist who is working by installation, performance, she was showing senses of subject since debut. Also, she shows her latest works about the stories of all throughout Iksan in the exhibition when she stayed in Iksan during 3 months as the residence artist at IKSAN CREATION CENTER. Especially, visitors can appreciate her video art work about the Iksan map drew by an old Japanese woman during the colonial era of Korea. In fact, Shin Mi Jung found it when she stayed in Iksan, she recorded an old Japanese woman’s locations in memory interviews with her.

A Korean artist Shin Mi Jung’s 4th solo exhibition,

설치와 퍼포먼스 작업을 통해 데뷔 이후 꾸준한 활동을 펼쳐온 신미정 작가가 네 번째 개인전 <식민지/추억>을 개최한다. 2015년 11월 9일부터 19일까지 문래예술공장에서 열리는 이번 전시회에서는 익산창작스튜디오에서 3개월간 입주작가로 지낸 신미정 작가가 익산지역 곳곳의 장소를 찾아 다니며 기록화한 작품들이 공개될 예정이다. 특히, 작가가 익산에 머물며 지역 리서치를 하던 중 발견한 식민지 시절 이리(현 익산)에서 태어난 일본인 노파가 직접 그려 보관해온 옛 이리의 지도를 통해 그녀가 그린 이리지도와 인터뷰한 내용을 바탕으로 작가가 그녀의 기억 속 장소들을 기록하고, 재구성한 영상을 감상할 수 있다.
