Don’t forget, we are all Lazarus 죽었다 살아난 사나이, 나사로

We are constantly reinventing ourselves if we are true to the human nature. Lazarus rose from the dead and metaphorically, it can happen to us even when we believe we have fallen too low once more… some sweet and caring unexpected people appear, out of the box magical ideas pop in our minds, and what seemed to be the end of the road transforms into a crossroads of many unseen possibilities.

Art possesses that function. Making us realize that all remains open to new points of views and it stresses the power of the human resourceful mind, restless to find paths, answers and hope. May this painting help you find in yourself what can bring back the spark of life that has never really left… it was just asleep and is now eager to play again.

종종 인생은 롤러코스터와 비교되기도 한다. 올라갔다 내려갔다를 반복하면서 울며 웃게 만드는 그 과정이 사람 사는 인생과 흡사하기 때문이다. 하지만 잊을 수 없는 인생의 아름다운 순간들은 실패와 좌절을 이겨낼 수 있는 힘을 준다. 결국, 예술도 기능해야 한다. 물질적인 결과를 위한 기능이 아닌 우리들의 선한 본성을 회복하기 위한 근본적인 고민을 제시해야 한다는 것이다. 프랑스 작가 제프 롤랑드는 예수에 의해 사후 4일 만에 부활된 죽었다 살아난 사나이인 나사로를 표현한 이번 작품을 통해 결코 쉽게 끝나지 않는 것이 인생이며 그래서 오늘 하루를 소중하게 생각해야 한다는 메시지를 전하고 있다. 컬쳐엠매거진이 작가 제프 롤랑드의 최근작, ‘Lazarus’를 독점으로 공개한다.
