Feign : RED Card

“When we were in ours childhood, we had a red card as called ‘Crying’. At that time, Crying made all gone well. Sometimes, I wanted to repeat in those old days. Maybe I need more time for being adult. In fact, red card means ‘warning’. Feign girl in the piece gives a red card for someone, but the fact is that she gives some message to herself. It would be the warning for herself? I meditate warning, resolution message such as ‘Do not let up’, ‘Keep going for the goal’ etc. If not, I can’t make more than creative art pieces.” – by a Korean painter Kim Hyun Jung 

내숭 : 레드카드

“어릴 적 우리 모두는 ‘울음’이라는 레드 카드를 가지고 있었다. 울면 모든 것이 해결되었던 그때. 가끔은 그때로 돌아가고 싶기도 하다. 나는 아직도 어른이 되려면 멀었나 보다. 경고의 의미를 가진 레드 카드, 그림 속의 내숭녀는 누군가를 향해 레드 카드를 내밀고 있지만 실은 자기 자신에게 메시지를 던지고 있습니다. 스스로를 향한 경고라고 볼 수 있을까요? ‘약해지지 말라’는, ‘계속 나아가라’는 경고이자 다짐의 메시지를 끊임없이 되새깁니다. 그러지 않으면 더 좋은 것들을 만들어내지 못할 수도 있으니까요.” – 한국화 화가 김현정
